I woke to rain again this morning. I really didn’t feel like walking around, so opted to stay close and catch up on writing.
After breakfast, we went to an Ayurvedic Clinic across the road and had a massage specific to our dosha. The doctor read our pulse and talked about our varta, pitta and kupha and how they relate to illness or undesirable conditions within the body. Quite interesting view to westernised natural medicine.
The massage was very good. The oil they use has over 70 herbs in it. Then they use a poultice to heat the joints, it smelt like it had ghee in it. Then an Indian head massage to finish off with a dark red oil. We went and laid in the sun by the pool for an hour. Then I showered and did some more writing.
I’m putting some short courses together for people to learn simple baby Bowen and animal Bowen techniques they can use at home with their loved ones.
A trip to the markets on dusk and it seems the whole neighbourhood comes alive at that time.
We attend the resort restaurant again tonight because Kenneth a local singer is performing 70’s and 80’s songs in both English and Hindi. A couple we have befriended at the resort, Benji and Elsie were there too enjoying the music. We promise Kenneth we’ll all get up and dance next week.
We talk to Benji and Elsie about our massage today as they are keen to get one. I explained about reading a persons’ pulse and they were fascinated that I diagnosed Elsie’s conditions so accurately when I demonstrated. Then I explained about the Bowen Massage that I do. Peter also explained what therapies he did. Another woman, Edna, a Goan now living in the UK , was interested too in what we were sharing. As we all walked back to our units, I was asked to consider how much I’d charge in India for a massage as they’d like one from me. I’ll have to check the going rates around town now. All in all, a very entertaining night.
